Poster for David Amerland and Jason Barnard

David Amerland is an SEO expert, author, business journalist, and speaker. In this video interview with Jason Barnard, he explains how searchers’ behaviour, intent, and expectations fit together into a world of data like Google’s.

Google is implementing a number of different AI systems in an attempt to integrate knowledge graphs at the point of the search query. Despite that search appears to be less responsive and less accurate than it was five years ago. There is a real reason for this and it is linked to human behavior and it affects both marketers and content creators. David and Jason will discuss the question: why is search underperforming even as its computational power is increasing? David will then provide some of the solutions that can be applied here to ensure that from an SEO-point of view a business continues to be visible. To do so he will draw from the latest research in AI, Google’s implementation of MUM and BERT and the neuroscience that helps us better understand human behavior, especially when it comes to making purchase decisions.
